Innovation & pilots

From tested ideas to practical programs people can act on.

Sustracka combines an active multifamily adoption program with emerging concepts explored through structured discovery and careful testing.

Status: offering development

PowerReady™

An emerging advisory framework for power-readiness assessment of energy-intensive infrastructure projects.

PowerReady is a structured approach to framing power requirements, utility and infrastructure considerations, supply pathways, preliminary energy economics, and development risk. It is an advisory framework in development, not a software product. Utility capacity and interconnection timelines always require confirmation from the relevant providers.

Our core service

C-MEIP

Comfort-to-Cost Multifamily Energy Insights Program

C-MEIP is Sustracka's multifamily energy adoption infrastructure: the decision, funding, and trust layer that converts existing incentive programs into completed multifamily upgrades. Structured decision experiments with landlords and residents test the mix of subsidy, administrative support, and trusted messaging that moves owners from not now to yes, then document live cases before a wider rollout.

How the program works

  • City Adoption Diagnostic: map barriers, test offers, and model conversion
  • Live Accelerator Pilot: run real upgrade cases with implementation partners
  • Annual Adoption Partner: sustain the landlord pipeline and report conversions
  • For cities: a Landlord Barrier & Conversion Matrix and Program Friction Audit
  • For landlords: a low-friction offer backed by local cases
  • For residents: a voluntary, comfort-first pathway with no utility-account data requirement or cost-sharing burden

Emerging concept

KWHOTA

An emerging concept exploring budget-aware, behind-the-meter energy insights and alerts.

KWHOTA is at the concept stage. Work to date focuses on the questions that would need to be answered before anything is built: what household-level signals are useful, what data is genuinely necessary, how alerts could be framed without creating alarm, and how affordability context could be reflected responsibly.

No commercial product exists. KWHOTA is described here as exploratory work.

Status: future concept

Sustracka Energy Intelligence Platform

A long-term product vision for energy data integration, infrastructure intelligence, and decision support.

This platform does not exist today. It describes the direction Sustracka's advisory work may evolve toward: bringing utility, meter, and infrastructure data together to support better energy decisions. Any future capability will be described only once it is built and tested.

Focus areas

Where we explore

Innovation work sits at the intersection of data practice, building performance, and how people actually behave inside programs.

Data practice

Minimum viable data, quality, and analysis that supports a real decision.

Privacy and governance

Consent, retention, and transparency treated as design inputs, not paperwork.

Building performance

Energy use, comfort, and operations examined together rather than separately.

Behavioral engagement

How information is framed, delivered, and trusted by the people receiving it.

Methodology

Discovery and pilot design

A consistent sequence keeps pilots small enough to learn from and structured enough to defend.

  1. 01

    Frame the problem

Define who is affected, what decision is being made, and what evidence would change it.

  2. 02

    Discovery

Interviews, site and portfolio context, data availability, and stakeholder concerns.

  3. 03

    Governance design

Consent, data minimization, roles, retention, and transparency agreed before collection.

  4. 04

    Pilot architecture

Scope, participants, measures, timeline, and success criteria defined in advance.

  5. 05

    Evaluate and replicate

Document what worked, what did not, and what transfers to another context.

Exploring a pilot, a concept, or a discovery phase?

We can help define the problem, design the governance, and structure a phase that produces usable evidence.
